Sony Ericsson Vivaz Joins T-mobile - New Vivaz Hd Phone By: Susan Hargreaves
The Vivaz is the latest multimedia phone from Sony Ericsson and has now been picked up by a third network operator, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz is now available on a range of T-Mobile pay monthly tariffs from free.
Originally made available on both Vodafone and Orange networks last month the Moon Silver edition Sony Vivaz has also been joined in the range by two more colour variants, the Cosmic Black and Ruby Red (sometimes referred to as the Venus Ruby) both of which offer the same great features as the silver model. The only difference in the models is their outer casings which in the case of this silver edition is finished in a beautiful sleek metallic silver paint with blue accents running down both sides of the phone.
On first inspection the consumer will notice that the Vivaz offers a subtle new design to its back casing, it is a curved finish that looks different from the usual 'slabby' format that sets this phone apart. This has been given the name of 'Human Curvature' by the manufacturer who claim it is an ergonomic design which fits the hand well when holding the phone either to your ear or for operation. One unique selling point of the Vivaz is its ability to record video clips in 720p HD quality, there is even a TV-out function that lets you view your works of art on a HD ready TV for sharing with friends and family. These are captured using an 8.1 mega pixel camera lens on the rear of the phone which also offers face detection for automatically finding and focusing on faces in the viewfinder making for easier picture capture.
Other key features of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz include Youtube compatibility for instant upload of your video clips, touch user interface on the phones 3.2 inch touch screen display, A-GPS for navigation, WiFi for connectivity on the move and drag and drop media allowing the user to quickly populate their phone when connected to their PC. Joining the Vivaz is another in the range called the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro which adds a further slide out Qwerty keyboard into the design, this stems back the camera resolution to 5.0 mega pixels and makes for a slightly bigger, heavier phone but with the added physical keyboard for quick text input.
Competition comes in the form of many new phones offering a 3.2 inch touch screen with similar features, these include the Nokia X6, LG Pop, Motorola Milestone (although more a Vivaz Pro competitor) and the HTC HD2 which has a far bigger screen size but similar functionality. Now released on T-Mobile, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz is waiting for launch on Virgin Mobile and 3 Mobile as well as on Pay As You Go and as a SIM Free phone.
Nokia X6 Black Edition Launched - 16gb X6 On Virgin Mobile By: Susan Hargreaves
The first of the new Nokia X6 16GB music phones has now been made available, the new Black edition X6 16GB has been released by Virgin Mobile on their full range of pay monthly contract deals. The Nokia X6 was first launched in its 32GB format back in December of last year in a red on black colour scheme, this larger memory capacity also meant that this was a more expensive handset and so the manufacturer has now released this new 16GB X6 model with a smaller price tag.
The other big difference between the 32GB and 16GB edition Nokia X6 phones is that the original larger memory edition came pre-loaded with the 'Comes with Music' service - something very hard to put a price on as the user could download as many new songs as they wanted for 12 months to keep forever. Stripping out this service in the new Nokia X6 16GB model means that it can be sold much cheaper and appeal to a younger, less affluent audience, Nokia have also played with the colour schemes of the newer model initially releasing it in a matt black finish in contrast to the red on black and blue on silver colour variants of the original model. Everything else however stays the same, there is still the 5.0 mega pixel camera with Carl Ziess optics for quality picture capture, a 3.5mm audio jack so the user does not have to use the pre-packaged headphones, WiFi, 3.5G support and that impressive 3.2 inch touch screen for whizzing through the menus and an on-screen Qwerty keyboard.
The Nokia X6 16GB Black edition is the first colour scheme to be launched from the new range, further models include a Nokia X6 pink edition plus a planned silver and yellow colour scheme for this new music phone. The main competition to Nokia's music phones comes from Sony Ericsson and their Walkman range however there is still no all touch screen model from the manufacturer that offers the same high specifications. The Sony Ericsson W995 is the top end Walkman device currently available and although it does offer a better camera at 8.1 mega pixels is still incorporates a slide out keypad rather than a touch screen. The Sony Ericsson Aino could also be a competitor, it does offer a touch screen but without the full functionality you would expect as only certain features can be controlled, the Aino also offers a better camera at 8.1MP and also a larger screen for enjoying music videos and movies.
The X6 16GB is yet to be given a release date on other networks but Vodafone look to be the next to pick this new music phone up, they will be offering the Nokia X6 Silver edition as opposed to this black version which may appeal to a broader audience.
